School Fundraising Ideas for Getting Everyone Involved
Teachers
Teachers, we know you’re busy (like, really busy). When you’re able to weave fundraising into your classroom activities, instead of adding more to your workload, it’s a win-win for all. There are lots of lessons that can find common threads with fundraising.
Math — let your students help calculate how much you can raise by selling 100 products. What about 500 products? What will you be able to purchase with the funds you raise?
Art — provide supplies for students to create posters and flyers for your fundraiser, and thank you cards for supporters.
Science — the science of chocolate? We can get behind that lesson…
Video Production and Photography — work with students to create a short video or slide show that can be sent to parents and community members via email or your school’s social media accounts.
Culinary — choose an ingredient from your Terri Lynn fundraiser to feature in the classroom kitchen. If you need recipe ideas, we have lots.
Talk up the fundraiser to your students to get them excited about the event. Let them know how far the funds will go and what you’ll be able to accomplish when you reach your fundraising goal.
Administrators
Your school’s administrative team can play a big role in getting students excited, too. Recruit staff to include your fundraising event in school announcements and newsletters sent home to parents, along with progress updates and reminders for how to get involved.
Administrators can also take the lead on coming up with prizes and incentives for students and classrooms! Plan parties or giveaways for selling the most products or reaching new goals, and get students involved in choosing the types of rewards they’d like to see.
For example, Taylor Road Middle School students asked for ear buds, pizza parties, and the chance to give their teacher a pie in the face!

Parents
Make it easy for parents to play a role in your fundraiser. If they want to volunteer, let them pick which tasks are the most appealing — maybe it’s calling business supporters, or updating the fundraising thermometer graphic in the school hallway. Let them choose if they’d like to volunteer, organize, or promote your event based on their skills and time availability.
And all parents can easily share the link to your school’s online fundraiser in emails and on their social media pages! Family members and friends near and far can purchase from your Online Store (featuring 30+ premium products), and proceeds are sent by mail to your school each month. Orders ship right to each buyer’s door, making it a hands-free way for parents to help spread the word and make an impact.
Students
The biggest key to a successful school event lies with your most important people — the students! When kids are excited about something, it’s more likely their parents will get involved, too. Together, they can recruit their families, neighbors, friends, and even local businesses to support your school by purchasing delicious Terri Lynn snacks and treats.
Students can also play an important role in creating promotional materials for your event, both inside the hallways and out in the community. Have students paint a large poster for tracking dollars raised, and write letters about the impact your fundraiser will have on their school community. Maybe they want to write a song or poem instead — let them take the lead on channeling their creative school fundraising ideas into unique and original tools!
